We are pleased to introduce Luke Carty as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Bartimaeus Inc.
Luke has 15 years of experience in the field of Child and Youth Care in a variety of roles and settings. He began his career as a front-line Child and Youth Worker at a leading children’s mental health centre in their residential and school programs. His focus was on bringing experiential learning opportunities to young people in care including sport, camping and life-skills programs. Luke also worked as a Bartimaeus Associate in a variety of settings during this time, including school and in-home contracts.
In 2011, Luke founded Brayden Supervision Services Inc., a sister-company to Bartimaeus focusing on providing custody and access supervision services in challenging circumstances. In his role as Service Director, he was responsible for all aspects of service delivery, including creation of policies and procedures, hiring and training of qualified staff and responding to client inquiries.
Luke returned to school to complete his Child and Youth Care diploma at Humber College, where he was the sole recipient of the Program Excellence Award in 2016. He continued with his academic endeavours, completing his Master of Arts in Child and Youth Care from Ryerson University the following year. His research focused on the core components of residential treatment from a variety of professional perspectives. In addition to front-line and managerial experience, Luke has taught at several academic institutions over the past few years, including Sheridan College, Humber College and Ryerson University.
Luke is looking forward to bringing his experience in both management and care provision to Bartimaeus. His role includes supporting the president and CEO, Anne Bonfigli, in day-to-day operations of the company. Luke’s office is located at 290 North Queen Street, Suite 112, in Toronto (Etobicoke).
