| Custody and Access
Bartimaeus Custody and Access Support service provides supervision for children visiting a non-custodial parent or other significant adult(s) in their lives. We understand that families have their own special needs, therefore arrangements are custom-designed to best suit their requirements. Child-centred visits are arranged to ensure the safety and security of all involved parties. Plans and activities are structured to ensure a conflict-free visit.
The service has two components:
1) Supervised Visits:
Supervised visits are arranged at locations that are safe for the children. An experienced and professional Associate provides supervision in a highly sensitive manner, and will remain with the children at all times and be aware of all interactions.
The Service Director arranges the visitation times and locations for the involved parties, thus alleviating uncomfortable social interactions. The pick-up and return of children will be arranged as necessary.
Visits are conducted to allow children access to the non-custodial parent or other significant adult(s). This service does not provide an assessment of the quality of attachment between the child and visiting adult.
2) Consultation Services:
A preliminary consultation is available for people who are experiencing difficulties in developing the terms and conditions of supervision. The Service Director is available to consult to both parties on arranging visits that are in the best interest of the children.
The Custody and Access Support service can be combined with other Bartimaeus services to maximize resources and minimize disruption.
